By artist Herbert James Draper (1863-1920), in a Private Collection

The beautiful sea sirens in this richly colored work by Draper seem just as fleshly and real as they must have been to Ulysses and his sailors who plugged their ears with wax to resist their tempting song. Though this is a Homeric scene, London-born Draper was most fond of painting the subjects of English poetry, particularly anything to do with the sea. The authentic stretched canvas replica painting captures the original work's texture, depth of color, and even its subtle brushstrokes, which are applied by hand exclusively for Design Toscano. Our replica European style, bright gold-toned, ribbed frame is cast in quality designer resin with an acanthus leaf and floret border that draws the eye toward the beautiful image.
