Item# FAM-DA5871
$189.00 – $450.00
"The Little Prince" is from a line in Shakespeare’s, Henry VI part 2, depicting young Henry Tudor, the Earl of Richmond, as he is presented to the appreciative crowd held aloft on the stone parapet. Part of the cycle of the War of the Roses, this painting is saturated with the colors of Lancaster, (red) and York (white) now both at peace, combined in the promise of a golden future in boy Henry Tudor the next King of England. Leighton’s Gothic work bridged the commercial and critical divide earning a place in the Victorians’ hearts. Famous for his romantic and vivid Edwardian and Medieval compositions, artist Leighton drew inspiration from historic eras, literature, romance and the Pre-Raphaelite movement. The authentic stretched canvas replica painting captures the original work's texture, depth of color, and even its subtle brushstrokes, which are applied by hand exclusively for Design Toscano. Our replica 4.375" wide, European style, bright gold-toned, ribbed frame is cast in quality designer resin with an acanthus leaf and floret border that draws the eye toward the beautiful image.
