Vici Cupid with Bow Statue

(based on 6 reviews)

By artist Auguste Moreau (1834-1917)
This decidedly French cupid will woo you without even lifting his bow! Sculptor Moreau gave the timelessly classic baby angel enough character to charm even the hardest heart. Our Eros is set atop a museum mount and then cast in quality designer resin with an antique stone finish. 5½"Wx4"Dx15"H. 1 lb.

Auguste Moreau (1834-1917)

Moreau was born in Dijon, France in 1834. Bronze sculptures by Auguste Moreau are prime examples of the Art Nouveau style. He worked in France during the turn of the century. Moreau was a student of Mathurin Moreau and regularly exhibited his bronze sculptures in the Parisian Salons.

Moreau 's bronze sculptures, such as Vici Cupid with a Bow, have inspired other sculptures to create in a similar style, such as with our Jeune Fille Avec Le Cygne. He died in 1917.
