Fraught with French Art Nouveau style, this quality, solid hardwood two tiered occasional table was originally designed in 1900 by noted furniture designer Emile Gallé. Upon its debut, the dragonfly works of Gallé provoked praise, lauding the modernity of the dragonfly as caryatid. Our replica features three oversized dragonflies forming the legs, their wings outstretched and frozen as if in flight. Requiring a full week to hand-carve, the stylized legs support a trefoil shelf, and are then crowned with a tabletop inlaid with faux marquetry that forms yet another dragonfly! This stunning work of furniture art is a true investment in European style.
