The Pushkin Collection: Natalia Romanov-Style Enameled Egg

(based on 1 review)

This exquisitely enameled egg is skillfully rendered in the style made famous by the House of Romanov's imperial jeweler for Russian nobility. A wax sculpture is made and cast in pewter using the traditional lost wax method. Then brilliant blue enamel is added inside and out while faux jewels and a tiny pearled crown is set in place, giving this quality work of art its rich ornamentation. Tiny magnets secure the lid of this treasure.

  • A timeless sense of romance surrounds the history of Faberg eggs, renowned for their beauty and intricate detail. What began as a family tradition in Russia has become an instantly recognizable symbol of love, renewed life and hope. Originally designed by Imperial Russian jeweler Carl Faberg, under commission from Czar Alexander III as an Easter surprise for his wife Czarina Maria Federova, replicas today like our Petroika Collection are admired as both collectibles and decorative accents, as well as unique boxes for special gifts.

Whether you select an egg that already contains a surprise, like our Czarina's Enameled Egg, which includes a tiny Faberg egg pendant, or you choose to add your own surprise (an engagement ring, perhaps?) to a sparkling, filigreed box like our Uspensky Cathedral Enameled Egg, these are gifts that are sure to delight.
