St. Michael the Archangel Statue Collection: Marble Resin Statue

(based on 25 reviews)

After a 1636 painting by artist Guido Reni (1575-1642), Santa Maria della Concezione, Rome
An astonishingly detailed image of great power and character, our St. Michael the Archangel statue is exclusively sculpted in three dimensions in either high-quality bonded marble or designer resin. With a strong diagonal line indicated by the thrust of his sword, this work of museum-quality art is a testament to St. Michael’s strength.

  •    Guido Reni (1575-1642)

Italian painter Guido Reni painted high-Baroque paintings and was quite prominent in his day. Reni paintings commonly were religious works and mythological scenes that received critical praise.Reni was born in Bologna and began studying painting when he was only 9 years old.

After visiting Rome in 1600, Reni decided that emulating the antique and recent Roman arts would be his life passion. Especially admiring Raphael, Reni also painted clear light and perfectly formed bodies with a lively ambiance. Like many other painters from Bologna, Reni's paintings were thematic, such as Archangel St. Michael, and verifiably eclectic. Reni was essentially a classical artist in the academic genre, but his elegant paintings and his unrelenting quest for artistic perfection transcend time and style.
