This Scottish basket hilt claymore sword is equal to any of those raised by clansmen as they overran the English at the Battle of Falkirk on Jan. 17th, 1746. The pierced basket hilt is a faithful reproduction of one found on the Culloden Moor. The fully tempered, high carbon steel blade is of the typical fullered, double-edge, broadsword pattern of the 1500s-1800s. The basket features a rich red cloth liner and a protective scabbard is included. The high-quality sword blade is hand-forged of high carbon steel, tempered for strength and meticulously polished to a superb finish. This is one of the strongest and finest swords available.
