This allegory of flight carries the French motto "We have the wings to fly over mountain and valley." A muscular semi-nude guardian angel stands atop symbols of aviation including propeller, wings and pistons, foreshadowing the future in this bronze statue. Sculptor Emile Louis Picault (1833-1915) worked tirelessly producing approximately one thousand exciting bronze sculptures in his lifetime. Our Design Toscano exclusive high quality lost wax bronze sculpture is hand rubbed in a multidimensional sepia patina finish and set atop a solid black marble base. The statue is individually cast in the traditional lost wax method, which highlights the sculptural uniqueness and guarantees heirloom quality.
