Greek sculptor, probably an Athenian. Leochares was associated in the decoration of the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus. He is known to have made portraits, including a gold and ivory group of Philip, Alexander, and others. The artistic gifts of the Boucher young person are very early recognized by Ramus which gives to the young boy his first rudiments of artistic education. He then associates it work of decoration for the theatre of the Nogent-on-Seine in construction.
