The Triumph of Marcus Aurelius Wall Frieze
(1515), Capitoline Museum, Rome
A frieze from one of the two remaining triumphal arches dedicated to Marcus Aurelius Antoninus, this faithful resculpt painstakingly recreates the elegant chariot, muscular horses and rich symbolism of the Golden Age of Rome.
