St. Enimie Fauteuil Masters Chair
Fine-quality solid hardwood antique replica
The finely hand-carved hardwood frame of our fauteuil is polished, highlighting the carved shells, padded manchette arms and tapered cabriole legs. Shell and acanthus detailing on its legs, skirt and pediment crown lends elegance to the wide-seated, tone-on-tone ivory upholstery, perfect as extra seating in a library or flanking an entryway to showcase period style. St. Enimie Fauteuil Masters Chair is rated 2.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not What You Get As another review correctly surmised, the photo does not match what you receive. The photo depicts an elegant antique cherry finish in what appears to be a comfortable frame with an ivory cream fabric. We ordered twice attempting to gain an image facsimile. Instead, we received a spray painted dark burgundy to simulate cherry. The carvings are lightly cut and robotically applied, lacking any sense of quality. The frame positions the back in nearly a fully erect position, which is not comfortable. The fabric is fine; however it is nearly white, not cream like photo suggests. Overall, the chair is not visually appealing in person, neither by fabrication nor by construction. While we have bought numerous items from Design Toscano, this was a real let down. Caveat emptor.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Looks great, poor materials This is my 4th time I buy from design Toscano, I never had a bad purchase experience until I bought a couple of these side chairs. 1.-To begin with, the color shown on the picture is chessnut color, when in reality they came in cherry color which I hate. The website does NOT give you the option of color choice. Big disappointment there. 2.- I had a huge problem trying to assemble one of the 2 chairs I got. One of the arms screw receivers came located in the wrong place by half an inche, which does not line up with the screw provided, making it impossible to install the way is suppose. I end up drilling a new whole myself on one of the arms in order to make it work. I spent 2 hours just fixing that issue alone. 3.- Assembly instructions are poorly explained. it's confusing which screws goes where since the instruction is only a small peace of paper on one side. I think instructions could use a whole full page easily expanding the drawing a bit bigger and clearer. 4.- after following carefully the instructions and paying close attention where screws go, I realized that one of the screws was way too long for the center underneath part of the chair, to the point that it went through the wood breaking the back of the chair destroying the finish on the back side. Not only the screw was NOT the right size for that receiver but the wood itself was extremely cheap and weak making a hole without making a single crack or sound for me to notice at the time I was screwing. (PS. I'm a tiny skinny guy, 110 pounds I could not have been too strong on screwing that to the point of breaking the new chair by a simple screw). 5.- The delivery guy knocked at my door asking for my help to unload the truck with the new chairs, when I went there, he acted as if it was my job to get the delivery done to my door. I had to walk across my building courtyard, and get out of the building parking and cross the street, watching the traffic in order to get his job done. Btw, the boxes where really NOT that heavy, plus he was using a small wheel carrier to help himself out, so I don't understand why he asked me to come to help him when in the first place wasn't that difficult for him to do that alone? The chairs look great but the poor materials the chairs are built with and the hard work I had to do to get them together is not worth $349 each. For what I got i would have paid $100 +shipment. I will NOT buy EVER again chairs or sofas from Design Toscano. I do NOT recommend this specific item. Save your money. I give the chairs a lifetime of a year, oh wait, one of them is already broken by the screw that the instruction said it goes there!
