Rated 4 out of 5 by Alpine Approach fountain Overview: The fountain came very well packaged and was easy to set up. I had it running within an hour of receiving it. From the pictures, I wasn't expecting it to be the shape it was. It is actually a corner unit, with 90 degree angled sides on the back. The place I intended to put the fountain wasn't a corner so I wasn't sure it would look good but I think it does. The fountain itself is very well detailed, there are two sets of water falls, with three tiers of display. It is very nice to look at and relaxing. I added a photosensor to the lighting so it wouldn't stay on at all times. I like that the lighting is separate from the pump itself, that makes fixing things easier down the road. Cons: For the price I paid, I hope this lasts several years. I have another older fountain that is still going after 8 years of use. On this model, there are foam sections along the top of each waterfall that appear to be glued to the resin body of the fountain. I asked customer service about these, to see if there were replacements available in the event they wear out. I was informed that the foam strips could be purchased at a hardware store if needed. I'm going to be watching to see how they hold up in the outdoor elements. These seem like the first thing that will wear out. There is also one place where the resin chipped, and I don't recall anything hitting it to cause the damage. I also hope the resin body stands up to normal wear and tear. In all, I really like the fountain. If it holds up and lasts a few years then it was definitely worth the investment. August 3, 2015
