Lions from the Vatican Sculptures
By Antonio Canova (1757 -1822), St. Peter’s Basilica, Rome
Since the 18th century these supremely strong and confident lions have flanked the tomb of Pope Clement XIII in Rome. Created by Canova, the most influential neoclassic sculptor, these awe-inspiring creatures continued the centuries-old tradition of doorway sentinels. Cast in designer resin, our historic lions will guard your bookcase or mantel top.

Love Lions The lions are currently on my mantle . I would love to have them in a bigger size. They are made well and have realistic detailing. October 5, 2013
Excellent porch highlight This pair of lions is very well made and will certainly stand up to weather of all types. They have been on my front porch wall for quite awhile and look the same as when I first displayed them. Although they appear to be made of some heavy material, they are actually quite light and easily moved but very sturdy. August 12, 2013
Vatican lions These two guys are pretty awesome. I really like the classy detail, It is an inexpensive way to add a little 1700 1800 art to your home. May 21, 2012
These are really beautiful. I got them as a gift for a friend. There's something very regal and beautiful about them. Gorgeous in person. If you're thinking about it, I encourage you to get them! November 18, 2010
