The Serengeti Wall Mask - Gazelle
by Abiodun Okulaja (b. 1960)
Drawing from his intimate knowledge of the exotic wildlife that teem across the plains of the Serengeti, Nigerian-born Okulaja aims to add a tribal touch to home or gallery wall with these stylized sculptures. Roughly hand-carved, these textural works are then cast in quality designer resin, hand-painted and accented with tiny faux gems set in a tribal motif.

Re: Serengeti Masks I just purchased 3 Serengeti Masks thru Skymall and am more than disappointed with them. All 3 are RED, not burgundy or brownish/red, RED RED, nothing even close to the picture. The details are painted horribly with spots missing and paint drips or brush slips. While I don't expect perfection, I would think that a product should be somewhat close to the picture shown and the company would check to make sure it is, especially when it comes to something that is suppose to be hung in view. As an artist, I will have to repaint all of them. The actual original resin casting art is fine but the execution of painting is horrible and as stated before, not any where near the colors. Uggggg.
