Neptune's Horses of the Sea Sculptural Wall Frieze
The sculpture is dramatic and well done. The hangers on the back are not up to the task.
I really like the artwork. It is dramatic and stimulating. The color choice is perfect for the theme of mythical horses emerging from the sea, bursting from the crest of a breaking wave. With an appropiate positioning of lighting the drama is extended by the shadows that the piece casts on the wall. (See Photo)
The only problem was that one of the attached hangers failed and the sculpture came crashing down one night. Fortunately there was no damage to the piece or the cabinet it struck. I resolved the problem by remounting the hangers with heavier screws and a generous glob of gorilla glue. And, to be really safe, it now rests on top of a curio cabinet that is well able to support the weight. Aside from that minor irritation, it is a wonderful piece of art. I would enjoy hearing what the artist has to say about his/her inspiration. Thanks for listening,.Mark A

You can't miss it
It is a fairly large piece for the wall. Your eye can't miss it when in the same room. The coloring of the resin seems somewhat gray but all in all if your looking for unusual or a conversation piece this will do the trick.

First time for everything,,,,
Before I start, I KNOW I could have returned this item, however, I needed a space filled & could not wait for a replacement. Also, this piece was one my wife & I put off getting for a couple years, but finally broke down & snatched it up. With that said, The problem with this piece is one I've NEVER had with Toscano before. It was this time where as a items description & photo DID NOT match the product when it arrived. I've purchased "hand-finished in quality designer resin" items before, and they all were the same tones. This piece, Neptune's Horses were nothing but pure army fatigue "green". (or at least one of the greens from the fatigues) Disappointed & pressed for time, again, I did not bother to return it, I simple headed to my local Home store & purchased a white gloss rich quality paint, and painted right over it. Would anyone else have gone through all of that, probably not , but, I'm now at least satisfied with the piece. As long as the room it's in gets the reaction I was looking for, I'm good. This was the only real miss with a order I've placed. But, I had to post this only to say, PLEASE Toscana, "IF" some of your items are in colors that don't match your description please add that to the description! I didn't think to take a photo of the awful green version that arrived, but' here it is after my minor tweaking!

One of the most commented piece in my home, and I have many great finds from Toscano. I love pieces that are unusual, and totally different and this is it! A true standing ovation.

Eye catching wall sculpture.
Neptune's Horses is a very nice piece that attracts the eye immediately. I installed it above my fireplace mantle which works perfectly.
As an equine professional it annoys me that the horses have cloven hooves - horses do not. While the color is reminiscent of cement, it is not quite there and it can be quickly identified as resin. I am overwhelming tempted to hire an artist to paint the sculpture in light washed tones and fill in the cloven hooves.
I do however enjoy the sculpture very much.
