Maria Paulin Borghese (1780-1825) as "Venus Victorious" Bonded Marble Statue

by Antonio Canova (1757-1822) in the Galleria Borghese, Rome

When Paulin's brother Napoleon was immortalized by the famous Italian sculptor Canova, Paulin was not to be outdone. She was portrayed as a reclining Venus, but with one provision: the statue was extremely idealized to preclude gossiping about her figure. A Basil Street Gallery exclusive, complete with details including the painstakingly rendered garment folds, this more-than-foot-long masterpiece is cast in fine-quality bonded marble resin for proud display in home or gallery.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value for money The quality of the products in particular in that section of the catalog varies widely from museum quality to bad Chinese copy. I bought a number of those statuettes with various results but that one is great value for money and the quality is very good

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This product is elegant and stunning. I have many of these statues with the white bonded marble and dearly love each and every one of them. They are such master pieces replicated with such attention to detail. I am always pleased with what I receive. I feel the prices are fair considering how beautiful they are. They are always packaged so carefully and I never have a problem having to send them back for breakage.
