Study of the Human Face Bronze Mask
By Auguste Rodin (1840-1917) Museum quality lost wax bronze
This verdigris bronze mask is believed to be taken directly from an original by Rodin. Capturing true human anguish, the modernistic mask uses the lost wax bronze method to translate Rodin’s tremendous talent for conveying feeling in three dimensions. A uniquely striking bronze, it is displayed atop a round black solid marble base and makes a wonderful addition to a fledgling or thriving art collection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favorite piece of art in our home After having this piece of art in our home for several weeks, I feel Rodin created this not for the wealthy or privileged, but for the humble, the sufferers. It is stunning and hard to look away from. The look of anguish in what I feel is one of Rodin's finest works is captivating and speaks to anyone who has lived a life fraught with hard work, bad luck, and disappointment. Only someone who has suffered can appreciate it at the depths it was meant for. I was thrilled to find this sculpture to be heavy and made of bronze instead of composite. An exceptional piece of art with 10 times the retail price, in my opinion. I love it.
