Chained Bondage Art Deco Statue

Inspired by artist Phillipe Wolfers (1868 1947)
Reflecting a stylish era, this emotional Art Deco piece combines a dramatic form with female curves in classic turn-of-the-century style. Expressing the soul s struggle for freedom, our exotic sculpture seems to struggle with almost serpentine grace to free herself. Fraught with sensuality and dramatic tension our stunning work features actual metal chains that are attached to her shackles. Our Toscano exclusive sculpture captures an idealized female form, cast in quality designer resin and finished in faux ivory and gold gilt to add drama to an image sure to spark conversation in any gallery.

An Interesting Piece I found this piece at the warehouse sale so while the listed value is good, my price was better. It has a grace that captures both simplicity and complexity common in art deco style pieces. It evokes emotion and action even tho the pose is static. I only wish I could find what the original was that this was taken from. So far I have not done so. I have a number of pieces from here which I have traced back to the original artwork. The only odd thing about it is that the chain seems too long and to me, that somehow breaks the look just a little bit. May 21, 2014
