Staverden Castle Peacock on an Urn Garden Statue
A Little Bit of Europe in Texas
I bought this item for my wife to be set on a pedestal in our boxwood garden behind a fountain. It's the perfect accent for this small area. Item arrived quickly (4 days from order to delivery!) and was packed appropriately to protect a slender neck and the small fan-shaped comb on its head. In order to keep it on the pedestal against squirrels, wind, etc. I drilled the small hole in the bottom large enough to run a pole from the ground, through the column base and into the peacock statue so now it sits securely with no worries. Looks great in the day and especially nice at night lit from beneath. Raking light sets off each feather in this nicely detailed piece. Adds a spot of European classicism to our North Texas back yard for a great price (at 20% using one of Design Toscano's emailed sales codes).

It's difficult to gauge from the web-site the actual size of the statue, and it's acutally a bit smaller than it appears. But, the size ended up being perfect for the space I had intended. Very classy with nice detail. Piece came undamaged. The neck is delicate, but seems otherwise study; but I wouldn't use it as a handle or leave it outside to overwinder in colder areas. I had been wanting the piece for awhile, and finally jumped on it when it went on sale.

Not meet my expectation
Very thin upper half..(neck and face) not noticable from far.
