Emmett the Gargoyle Sculpture
I was really excited to order this piece. Loved the design and a great addition for our small patio.
However after ONE full round of seasons - let's count what's wrong. One of Emmet's fingers fell off. The finish on front and back is peeling off. AND one of his ears is cracked.
Awful quality. Maybe there's been improvements but I am horribly disappointed.

This product leaves something to be desired...
While the size and design are nice, the quality of the materials and workmanship left a lot to be desired. The paint pulled off of the thin plaster when I took it out of the plastic bag. The paint continued to fall off as I tried to rub the packing material off of the piece. There was also some kind of chrystaline substance "growing" on the piece. Since I didn't want to go through all the hassle of returning the piece and getting more of the same, I had my artist friend scrape off all the loose paint and he repainted and refinished it. It actually looks better than the way it did when it arrived. I have many other gargoyles made of heavy resin and they are very durable, but this piece seems to be made of cheap thin hollow plaster. Since this comes from China, I doubt talking with the manufacturer would be possible.

Emmett is exactly what I wanted, small, cute and light weight. Even though he scared my UPS driver he"ll keep the bad guys away! Luv him!

The statue itself was very nice; just the contemplative gargoyle I'd been looking for; however I purchased Emmit at the end of nov. and just noticed that the finish is wearing away in many areas leaving the white of the cement underneath in view. 2 months exposure? Hence the average rating.

New member of the family
He welcomes visitors to the house from a high vantage point. After all, gargoyles are meant to be looked up to.

Traditional With a Twist
Emmett is quite unique, despite being modeled after gargoyles of old, with the little cowlick atop his head. He is very sizable and sturdy. Mine has never seen daylight, so I cannot comment on how well he stands up to weather, a complaint that others have mentioned. Personally, I would not take the chance and would opt for a concrete model if looking for one intended for outdoors, but I would certainly recommend his presence if searching for a new indoor pet of the macabre sort.

Great Garden Gargoyle!
I got Emmett as a Christmas present for my wife. It is sturdy but light weight and she really thinks he is cute! It came on time and is a great deal - very affordable for the quality.

Captures the morning light
Emmett is a solid ten pounds and can withstand a good deal of wind. I have him out on the balcony surveying the Atlantic Ocean. I particularly like his surface texture which captures the morning light brilliantly.
