The level of detail in the sculpture is great, however, the paint job could've been better. It tends to not compliment the sculpture to it's full potential.
My only major gripe is some of the paint had been rubbed off the beak. I'll be able to touch that up myself.
All in all I'd say I'm fairly happy with it considering the price I paid.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Bob2319 Very good sculpt, but the coloration is less than accurate.
What impressed me most about this piece is the quality of the sculpting. The feathers are nicely laid in, and the body form and the pose are both well done. Usually owls are represented with their outer toes swung toward the back, so there are two pointed forward and two pointed back, but this sculpture has three toes pointed forward. Not that this is inaccurate, of course; I just thought it bears mentioning. The length of the owl is about 16", which makes it too small to be an adult Great Horned Owl, and too large to be a Screech Owl. The main shortcoming is the coloration; while it looks nice, this piece doesn't have the intricate pattern of banding and varying colors that most owls have. This is not surprising, considering how time-consuming a more accurate color pallet would take. I plan to re-paint it when time allows.

I purchased this statue because it was a little more affordable then one I had seen elsewhere. The statue is not quite as lifelike or vibrant as the more costly one, but it is still very nice and lifelike.

I love my forest owl, He is a great addition to my pond and garden, He looks so real and has great detail. He helps keep the woodpeckers from destroying my pine trees. He is real life sized. And looks very wise.I also have other owls from Tuscanos!!
