British colonials were mesmerized by stories of huge jungle drums astride the backs of exotic elephants, resonating the call to war. Today, historic replicas of these drums with the same hand-hammered and riveted iron plates, tightly-stretched buffalo skins and leather ties are innovatively fashioned into cocktail tables more than three feet in diameter. Each table takes a craftsman three days to complete. This deep-voiced instrument comes with a set of wood and leather drumsticks and a black iron tripod base to show off their earthly timbre.
