Antiquarian Wood Book Easel
Cheap and nasty
When fully assembled the product does not stand level; it wobbles. Several different types of wood are used which absorb the stain color differently, so it looks variegated. The largest piece of wood upon which the book rests is ply wood, heavily disguised and stained. The Toscano description inflates the quality of this product.

Very pleased with product
I read a review stating it was hard to assemble. It was very simple and took me only a short time to assemble. I love the look and quality of the stand. I would recommend this product to anyone. Very nice, high quality workmanship!

Classic Timeless Look
Just look at the photo I have uploaded. The item is very traditional. It looks like it could be an antique.

Purchased this as a gift for my antiquarian book loving husband. He loves it and proudly displays his treasures in our library.

Nice, rustic addition
Nice book holder. Unfortunately, one of the legs were damaged, but I kept it anyway.

Handsome, vintage looking piece
Excellent piece for the price. Especially if you're able to download a coupon or discount. I found resellers selling it for double or triple what Toscano sells it for, so be sure to buy from Toscano.
The reason I didn't rate it with five stars all around was the assembly. The legs and supports really had to be tweaked and torqued to get all the pieces assembled and tightened down. This resulted in the inability of all of legs to sit flat on a surface. But this was remedied when I replaced the plastic leg tips with foam pads.
I really love it and wish I could rate it five stars overall across the board, but I want to be honest for the sake of other customers. If you don't mind the small amount of tweaking to make it just right then it will be no problem. Perhaps also Toscano can rectify the problem with the assembly. Thank you Toscano for a beautiful piece!

Simply the best thing that can be found
Got exactly what I wanted. Was a little scared during assembly as some of the parts were really tight but no problem.
It's simply the best book stand around, all others either have a bad angle, low height or simply have something that gets in the way of turning the pages.
This model on the other hand has a high stand and is angled enough such that the pages will stay flat even if there's no page holder. I put a very thick book on it of which I'm at the very beginning and I was worried about damaging the book, with this stand my worries are gone.

Difficult to assemble
I've bought a number of items from Toscano before and they are always packed well and great design. But this was poorly boxed and packaged well to prevent damage in shipment. Then it was difficult to assemble. You had to screw the legs onto the platform, but something was out of square, too long or warped. It had to be forced into the holes and I thought it might break in doing so. The Antiquarian Wood Book Easel is not upto what I would consider Toscano standards.
