This Hartwig Walking Stick/Umbrella Stand is...Awesome!!!
It is made very well and it is super heavy duty.
It seems to be larger than what we expected and is such a delight,
and we are very proud to show it off in our entrance room.
An elegant piece that one can use with great pride and enjoyment.
My husband said... at first it was a little bit tricky to put together only
because of its weight and he did a fine job putting it together.
We are pleased and happy with such a beautiful piece.
Thank you Toscano!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by LilH It arrived broken twice
I was looking for a umbrella/walking stick stand to display the antique canes I'd inherited from my father. This looked like an ideal stand since it would display the entire length of the canes and not just the handles like most jars.
Unfortunately the first piece arrived with the upright broken into two pieces.
I called customer service and I couldn't be happier with their reply.
No questions, no "Did you drop it" etc. just a "We're so sorry, we're shipping a replacement and we'll arrange for the pick up at your home"
The replacement was shipped even before the other was returned and it arrived today.
When I opened the box I was horrified to find that the upright was broken again in almost the exact same place indicating it's probably a design flaw (cast iron is brittle and the upright broke at the narrowest point). I called Customer Service again they were more than helpful in arranging for a return.
At this point I can only assume that there basic design flaw in the way it's packed or manufactured (neither of which are under the control of Design Tuscano) and I will not be reordering this item.

by Manuel03 Very impressive!
I was very impressed by the quality of this item! It is very heavy and looks like a real antique umbrella stand from the Victorian era. Real antique umbrella stands of similar quality sell for more than $600 and they are usually rusted (I had been searching for one). I have real antique furniture in my house and it fits perfectly. Guests notice it when they first walk in and all the people who have seen it were impressed. My only (minor) criticism is the assembly. The item comes in 3 pieces that have to be screwed together. It is very heavy so it is difficult for one person to put it together. At first I tried to do it by myself because I wanted to surprise my wife but it was hard to line up the screws properly while holding the heavy pieces and I had to ask her to help me. Of course, it's good that it is so heavy because it will not fall from the weight of the umbrellas. I was not planning to spend so much on an umbrella stand but it was 100% worth it! If you plan to put it on a hardware floor, you might want to attach some felt material under the feet because the floor might get scratched. Finally, I should add that it is larger than I thought it would be and it can easily accommodate 6-8 umbrellas.

the umbrella stand is very simple. for the price I paid. I expected more detail and the bottom of the stand it is cheap looking. I am not happy with this item. but I needed a gift for my mother.
Later I found a real nice one at an antique shop by my house that was very ornate and the same size I paid $55.oo for this other stand. thw only thing wring with this stand was the color and scratches on it, so I remedy this by spray painting it black and it looks like new!
I am happy with this one. and my mother likes her gift from Toscano because she hasn't seen mine yet. I wouldn't buy this for myself plus the delivery was a nightmare it was so delayed!! that I was late for my mothers birthday gift. so I bought her another present and this one after her birthday
I don't know why Toscano took so long I have been a customer & my mother has been a customer for many years & this has not happened before.
I hope they fix this problem in the future on our next order
